Regulation and Function of SRF in Vascular Pathiobiology

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Vascular disease is accompanied by changes in gene expression. SRF binds CArG boxes to direct normal or abnormal gene expression in cells of the vessel wall called smooth muscle cells. We will use novel tools in genetics and genomics to define, for the first time, the role of SRF in acute and chronic models of vascular disease. Findings will inform future therapeutic strategies to combat human vascular diseases.
