Abstract

Periodic limb movements (PLMs) are often considered an exclusion factor in subject selection for studies examining REM sleep parameters. Indeed, previous reports have shown an association between PLMs and REM parameters in narcoleptics and mixed sleep disorders patients. This study found no relationship between REM variables and PLMs in a group of 30 age matched insomniacs.
