A comparison of salient rewards in experiments: Money and class points

Abstract

We use laboratory decisions with different salient rewards to elicit individual values of a risk mitigation investment in a low probability environment. Statistically significant gender differences were found with class points; however, gender differences disappeared when monetary incentives were used.
