Abstract
This paper outlines an executive education and training programme modelled after the Texas Tech University PhD programme in wind science and engineering. The intention of this paper is to facilitate discussion and development of executive education and training programmes with an emphasis on life-long learning. In particular, the programme aims at integrating engineering, management and economics to develop leaders capable of operating in multi-disciplinary environments. Such a programme targets audiences involved with emergency management, disaster recovery and response, risk management and insurance, economic development, regional and urban planning, and economic and systems modelling. A preliminary version of this programme is currently under development and the foundation for this type of executive education and life-long learning programme is discussed.
