Abstract

Metastatic disease involving the appendix is rare. The most common mode of secondary appendiceal involvement with malignancy is transcoelomic spread of gastrointestinal and ovarian malignancies. Metastatic disease to the appendix that does not involve the peritoneal surfaces has been reported in patients with melanoma and in patients with primary tumors from the gastrointestinal tract, urogenital tract, breast, lung, thymus, and gallbladder. We describe a patient with metastatic endometrioid endometrial adenocarcinoma to the appendix.
