Abstract
Explosive injuries are an unfortunate likelihood to be encountered by prehospital providers due to increased usage on United States soil. This means that EMS physicians and personnel must always be aware of possible multiple-casualty incidents involving penetrating and blunt trauma. This has required a restructuring of emergency education, training, credentialing, and treatment at the scene and in the hospitals. Prehospital providers must understand how to triage, treat, and transport patients with polytrauma from explosive devices.
