Abstract

In the final chapter of The Craft of Teaching in Public Affairs, the authors identify themes found in the book and provide concluding thoughts for the future of teaching in the field. These ideas are based on our experience, a review of the literature, and the contributions of the book’s authors. Possible tips and tools include the need for experiential learning, the importance of mentorship, the need for instructors to be curious and caring, the need for faculty to learn how to teach by doing it, and the importance of lifelong learning. These practices are held by faculty who are constantly improving their craft of teaching.
