title = "Faculty perceptions of a multimedia capture platform used for online learning",
abstract = "Faculty have many choices to consider when determining what learning tools to incorporate into their online courses. However, choosing the right tool or tools to incorporate can be a daunting task. Faculty collaboration with instructional technology personnel can help define the decision making process when choosing the tool that best meets the needs of the faculty and students. Instructional technology personnel can also help with the implementation process and finally with the evaluation of the tool following implementation. The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) used such a process for determining which learning platform to use for online course development. MCG chose the Tegrity platform which allowed for the production of both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments. Following implementation of Tegrity a survey was created to determine faculty satisfaction with the Tegrity tool. Faculty indicated that they believed Tegrity had helped the students better understand the course materials, had helped improve student test scores, had enhanced class interaction, and had helped reduce the time required to develop online courses. From this survey, it was determined that the overall faculty satisfaction with Tegrity was high and that this tool was currently meeting the needs of the faculty within the School of Allied Health Sciences at the Medical College of Georgia.",
