Abstract

Uterine fibroids are among the most common benign tumors in women of reproductive age. Oftentimes, these tumors exhibit very characteristic growth patterns. Gaining a better understanding of these unique growth patterns is pivotal in proposing new paradigms for uterine fibroid management and treatment. Moreover, by examining available therapeutic targets, learning lessons from new cancer therapeutic strategies, and tailoring drug therapies, scientists will be better positioned to devise and create innovative, effective and useful strategies in the development of novel medical therapies towards the management and treatment of uterine fibroids.
