Abstract
A hemodynamic model is described that includes pressure losses in the artery, vein, anastomoses, and stenosis. The model predicts a gradual decrease in flow rate up to an area reduction of about 50%, followed by a more rapid decrease through total occlusion. Comparison of the model results to clinical measurements can indicate the physical forces responsible for adaptation in these grafts.
