Abstract
A case of spontaneous rupture of the colon in a young man with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is described. Although this presentation of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is rare, it can be catastrophic. Surgery was not performed until 24 hours after presentation. Laparotomy showed two small ruptures of the sigmoid colon, and a left colectomy and colostomy were performed. The patient did well postoperatively.
