Abstract

The ultrastructural changes of the cell membranes in isolated rat hearts and cultured myocytes following treatment with exogenous H2O2 is evaluated in the study. Findings suggest that blebs originated from the sarcolemmal membranes undergoing lipid peroxidation and these blebs play an important role in the 'NO-reflow' phenomenon commonly observed after ischemia/repurfusion.
