About the Project

Project Narrative Glaucoma detection and disease management is a significant challenge in the field and many clinical issues remain unsolved. The aim of this proposal is to use quantitative proteomic analyses of aqueous humor to elucidate the relationship between aqueous humor protein content and glaucomatous optic neuropathy. Identification of molecular changes and novel biomarkers that may constitute a risk factor for the development of glaucoma will set the stage for better diagnostic modalities, improved treatment strategies, blindness prevention and therefore, reduce the global health burden of this disease.
