About the Project
Coronary disease is caused by atherosclerosis, where immune cells build up in the artery wall in response to cholesterol and other inflammatory factors. How these immune cells are triggered and how they are activated is not well understood. This project will study a protein called MLKL to better understand how it controls the production of immune cells that worsen atherosclerosis.
