A substantial part of this work was carried out when I was at the Centre for Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Institute, Oxford University and making monthly visits to Imperial College, London during 2003. I am extremely thankful to Prof. Philip Maini and Prof. Geoff Garnett for their enthusiasm, encouragement and valuable suggestions during this work. My sincere thanks to Prof. R.M. Anderson, Dr. C. Fraser, Prof. N.V. Joshi and Prof. V. Nanjundiah for their general discussions and/or comments. Two graduate students, Ms. Stuti Desai and Ms. Nameeta Mujumdar, at IISc helped in understanding basic immunology related to this work, for which I am very thankful. I extend my gratitude to London Mathematical Society for their funds and to the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi for their fellowship in India.
