Abstract

This study describes a day in the practice lives of nurse practitioners (NPs) and certified nurse midwives (CNMs) in the United States using survey results of 676 advanced practice nurses (APNs). Results indicate that NPs and CNMs practice in a variety of settings and care for patients whose cases are complex. Most providers also identified depression, anxiety, or behavioral issues as among the most common and difficult problems to manage.
