Abstract
In dependance on their theoretical conceptions the individual family therapeutic schools diagnostically put different accents. After giving a short overview of the four most important approaches, those diagnostical categories are derived the clinical importance of which is acknowledged independently of the school. The structural (1), historical (2), psychogenetic (3) and process referred (4) dimensions are explained in detail as equivalent complementary perspectives. Each dimension is illustrated by case examples and the relevant factors are described tabularly with anamnestic questions.
