Abstract

Background. EndoAnchoring is a relatively new technology to sustain proximal seal bet- ween an endograft and the aortic wall with the strength of a surgical anastomosis. It has been designed to treat acute and late type IA endoleaks, but also to prevent late-term seal ing problems. Results. To date, over 1500 patients have been treated with the Heli-FX EndoAnchor System and >300 cases have been included in the global ANCHOR registry. Conclusion. In recent publications the safe ty and efficacy of EndoAnchoring has been proven in both EVAR and TEVAR to overcome many fixation failures. Technical aspects of proper use of the EndoAnchors to minimize maldeployment will be reviewed in this man uscript. The first robust clinical data of the global ANCHOR registry will be published mid 2014. The English full-text version of this article is available at SpringerLink (under "Supple mental").
